In this post we are going to look at how we can maximise your performance by doing things at the right time
Scheduling activities at the time where our energy level fits the energy level that is required for that particular activity will make us much more effective. Yay 🙂
A myriad of things influence how much energy we have at any given time. When we learn to ride the ups and downs of our energy waves we can create a positive, creative and productive flow. Being in flow is also known as being ‘in the zone’. When you are in the zone, you focus completely on carrying out the task at hand and you forget yourself.
Do you remember the last time you got so engrossed in a task that you concentrated fully and time just flew by? How did it make you feel?
When you are scheduling effectively you will experience flow regularly.
To experience flow you have to have clear goals, immediate feedback and the right balance between your set of skills and the level of difficulty of the activity, according to the psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, who named this particular experience.
Coming out of flow, you will feel more competent and efficacious because being in flow builds your competence and thereby your confidence. And it makes you happy.
So scheduling effectively improves your confidence and your happiness. What is not to like about that?

A small warning: Be aware that you do not get too caught up in analysing and enhancing your productivity. It is very easy to get caught up in analysing instead of doing. Ensure you have a good balance between learning, planning and executing. Implementation of your plans are key, otherwise they just remain plans.
It is the action that creates the results. Now go get it done 🙂
